Justine Kent Maths

Hello! 

I am a dedicated maths tutor with qualified teacher status and over 30 years' experience of helping children and students of all ages and abilities.

I hold a deep, specialist, working knowledge of the whole mathematical learning journey from children's initial encounters of number and mathematical operations, through to the maths of Key Stage 3 and 4 and above.

My aims are simply to share my passion, to help as many children or students as possible to gain confidence and enjoyment in their learning of maths and to help them achieve better understanding and proficiency in the subject I love!

With a first class degree in maths, I have a strong mathematical aptitude. The difficulty for many mathematicians is placing themselves in the mind of the child or student for whom maths doesn't come easy! This, I believe though, is one of my strengths. I have a strong insight into common weaknesses and misconceptions, but I am also able to recognise and understand each student's own barriers and how to help overcome them.

I believe a flexible, reactive approach is vital - the capability to adapt and tailor teaching in the moment in response to student needs.

I am experienced in delivering tuition either face-to-face in person or online.
